At Cards for Children's Literacy, we’re raising funds and promoting initiatives to help those who need it most. Who We Are and What We Do
The goal of Cards for Children's Literacy is to turn old, unwanted, or spare trading, game, movie, and/or sports cards into revenue to sponsor literary programs and provide books for unfortunate children in the United States, and around the world.

Cards for Children's Literacy accepts any kind of trading cards, sports cards, game cards, or money. The condition, rarity, or quantity of cards is unimportant. They'll be taken and sorted. Some will be sold individually, others in bulk, and the proceeds will be donated to one of a handful of charities which provide learning, meals, shelter, water, and support to kids in need everywhere.

Feel free to donate money if you don't have cards to send. We don't discriminate, and we'll use all funds generated this way according to our policies to make sure children get the help they so desperately need.

One of the main reasons Cards for Children's Literacy was founded was to compensate for the growing problem of illiteracy, both in the United States, and around the world. Your Inquiries Answered
Do you take any kind of card?
Yes, we do. You're free to donate any kind, quality, and quantity of trading cards, game cards, sports cards, movie/TV/cartoon cards. We'll even take post cards, greeting cards (unused, please) playing cards, Tarot cards, old cigar and cigarette cards.
Business cards?
Maybe, if they're related to our cause.
What if I'd like to donate, but don't have access to any of the cards you're talking about?
Like every other charity, we also take money. We generate more than half our revenue stream from cash donations, and to be honest, money is the bottom line. You can click on any donate button, and it will take you to a site where you can contribute as much cash as you'd like. Thank you.
What is your cause?
We support children's literacy. This means we donate to several charities that provide books and education to deserving and needy children in the United States, Africa, and around the globe. Some of the donations stay here in our home state of NH, where we sponsor tiny libraries and helpful programs.
Is it just about giving out books?
Nope. Some of our charities provide safe drinking water, food, and other necessities to children in need. All of our charities address some desperate need. So, it's a lot bigger than just turning donations in to books.

What if I only have one or two cards?
If you've decided to donate them to Cards for Children's Literacy, thank you. We take any number of cards. Just place them in a cushioned envelope, some something with cardboard around the, and mail them to us. Our address can be found in the Contact section below.

I have a bunch of cards, but I can't afford to ship them to you. Will you pay for shipping?
We're a charity, so we'd prefer your cards be shipped to us as part of your charitable donation, but if you have a large collection, or one that you believe might have enough value to justify us pre-paying postage, we will consider it. Contact us at cardsforchildrensliteracy [at] gmail.com with a general description of your collection. Please put PAID SHIPPING REQUEST in the subject line.
I have a bunch of cards. What if I don't just want to give them away. Will you buy them?
We're a charity, so we'd prefer you to donate in the spirit intended, but if you have a large collection that you just absolutely must get money for, we will, on rare occasion, purchase collections for a baseline value of $3USD/1000 cards. We're not a business. We can't offer more, so don't ask. Inquiries can be made here: cardsforchildrensliteracy [at] gmail.com. Just let us know you're interested in selling, and what you have. Please put SELL REQUEST in the subject line.
What do you do with the cards?
All donations we receive will be processed. This means they're taken and sorted by what type of card they are. Then they're sorted again by set, edition, collection, and other factors that makes them easier to inventory. Yup, then they're inventoried one by one. Large value items will be sold through our website https://www.cardsforchildrenslwixsite.com and through other online and brick-and-mortar channels. Lower value inventory will be held to make custom sets and collection that will also be sold.
What percentage does the charity give to its causes?
At the moment, 100% of net donations will go to the chosen charities.
I have a favorite charity I think would be a perfect fit for this project. Can I ask you to donate to them?

Is my donation tax deductible?
Not just yet, I'm afraid. We need donations in order to procure our tax-exempt status. Feel free to donate now, but check back with us.
